As far as I know, penguins have little personalities and some species of penguin can be more aggressive than others. Not only toward humans but other animals and their own kind as well. If they feel threatened, or their offspring is being threatened, they will protect it.

While I was reading we ran into the question “Why are Antarctic penguins afraid of humans?”.

Many animals have evolved a fear of humans because of the strong selection pressure of us eating the ones that are not afraid. But Antarctic penguins don’t regularly encounter humans, or at least they hadn’t until a few hundred years ago at the earliest.
